Want to play your games, videos, movies and mp3s on your pc and hear the sound through your home stereo?

Heres a quick guide on how to do it for free.

What you need:

  • A soundcard in your pc / laptop
  • An AUX to PHONO cable

This is what a AUX to PHONO cable looks like:

1. Check on the back of your pc main box for a green port on your soundcard.  Your soundcard should look similar to the one shown below.

2. Check on the back of your stereo for AUX ports as shown below.

3. Plug the red and white ends of the AUX to PHONO cable into the aux ports on the back of your stereo.

4. Plug the other end of the PHONO to AUX cable into the green port on the back of your pc.

5. Change your stereo to the AUX setting. Most stereos have a ’source’ button, use this to change to the AUX setting.

Test everything works by playing a mp3 on your pc and you should hear the sound coming from your stereo speakers.
