wineOnce opened a bottle of wine keeps for a maximum of three to four days depending on the type of wine. Red wines keep longer than whites on average, with the rate of oxidation being the critical factor in the process. Light and elegant wines hardly keep at all while heavier wines such as chardonnay or shiraz or cabernet can keep for 3 or 4 days if corked and chilled.
